Dharmanagar, 19 Oct 2022: An electricity worker tragically died after falling from a pole while repairing electricity lines. The Incident took place in Dharmanagar in front of Natun Patti area. The deceased has been identified as Siddhartha Das (59), a resident of Dharmanagar Algapur.
According to the details of the incident, on Wednesday morning several people including Siddharth Das went to fix the electricity line in Natun Patti area. As usual, Siddhartha Das climbed up the pole with a bamboo ladder after turning off the power line, and then started repairing the line, said an electricity worker who was with him. Siddharth Das was seriously injured when he fell from the pole when he was going to work in such a condition.
After the accident, he was brought to the North District Hospital in Dharmanagar with the help of firemen. After first aid, the on-duty medical officer Hari Bhowmik declared him dead. A shadow of grief has descended on Dharmanagar in this incident.
