Agartala, Feb 5: In a significant announcement during the third-anniversary program of the Tipra Motha Party at Malancha Niwas in Agartala, Tipra Motha Party supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarman assured party workers that the constitutional demands pledged for the tribal section would be earnestly fulfilled.
Addressing the gathering, Pradyot reflected on the post-election scenario, recalling instances where skepticism surrounded the identity of AK Mishra. However, he highlighted that AK Mishra later arrived in the state, and the people adhered to his directives, emphasizing the party’s steadfast demand for Greater Tipraland and the pursuit of a constitutional resolution.
Pradyot also acknowledged the challenges faced by Bru Reang refugees who had migrated from Mizoram to Tripura. Despite initial attempts to evict them back to Mizoram, Pradyot’s intervention with the government resulted in the successful resettlement of Bru Reang refugees in Tripura.
Rejecting the option of joining the BJP, Pradyot emphasized his commitment to justice for the people, asserting that Tipra Motha provided an avenue for the people’s voices in the assembly through 13 MLAs. He highlighted the ongoing issues affecting tribals, such as inadequate education and healthcare services, leading to fatalities and the need for tribal empowerment.
He emphasized the need for justice and empowerment among the tribal community, asserting that as long as there is unity (“Thansa”) among tribals, their goals cannot be thwarted.
In a critical stance, Pradyot criticized the President of TBSE for allegedly directing Kokborok exams to be conducted in a specific script. On this occasion, he called for Kokborok exams to be administered in the Roman script, advocating for inclusivity and linguistic diversity.
