Kamalasagarh, 7 June 2022: Bride torture, murder, or housewife abuse is not a new issue in the state of Tripura. And this time a housewife left her 14-year-old family and fled with another man, taking away gold ornament worth Rs 5 lakh and cash leaving behind an 11-year-old daughter and her husband. Eventually, the husband was forced to file a case against the housewife at Madhupur police station. The incident took place in Bajendra Nagar 6th ward under the Kamalasagar assembly constituency Madhupur police station.
According to the details of the incident, Biplab Roy alias Pintu, son of late Mohan Roy of 6th ward of Bajendra Nagar, got married to Priyanka Bhowmik Roy, daughter of late Rampurhati Kshir Mohan Bhowmik of 6th ward of Nehal Chandannagar Panchayat following social norms. Allegedly, after the marriage with husband Biplab Roy, their family was going well for nine years and they were quite happy. In it one of their daughters was born.
From then on, housewife Priyanka Bhowmik later fell in love with someone else. At one point, she was working on a plan to sent her husband away from home, as much as she could. She even embezzled money from many women in the area in the name of self-help groups or banks in the name of her husband.
At one point, her husband Biplab Roy, seeing her bad behavior, told the story to her father-in-law’s house. But it did not work. Later, he also approached the head of the area for solution. Most of the time, she used to leave the house and spent some nights elswhere. At one time, Biplob Roy was forced to listen to his wife and move to a rented house in Hapania area. But that did not change her.
Finally, she ran away from the house holding another man’s hand with 5 lakh gold ornaments and cash. Biplab Roy came to Madhupur police station with that allegation.
Later, he directly complained about the name of a young man in front of our camera and said that he would also file a case against him.
