After the success of Four More Shots, Bollywood actor Prateik Babbar is currently gearing up for his next OTT release ‘India Lockdown’. In the film he plays the role of a migrant worker. While talking about the film, the actor also reflected on his journey and shared that he regretted making some decisions in life.
In an interview with a channel, Prateik shared that for the longest point of time, he has been misunderstood for the things he did, and for the choices he made. He confessed to ‘single-handedly’ destroying his career. He feels that even today he is misunderstood but today, he is here to to turn a new page and be Prateik 2.0.

During the interaction, director Madhur Bhandarkar also shared that Prateik was absolutely brilliant in the film. He revealed that when he initially wanted to cast Prateik the team wouldn’t agree. They all said, ‘No No. Sir aapko kya ho gaya hain? Migrant worker ka role Prateik kaha karega? Yeh thodi koi Sobo, Page 3 type role hain jo woh karega (What is wrong with you? Why would Prateik play a migrant worker? This isn’t an elite role). “For me, it was very challenging. I said, ‘I will put him into work. Leave it to me,” he shared.
In the trailer of the film, Prateik’s character can be seen disturbed as the debts continue to rise, as his wife too looses her job and their kids start struggling too because of hunger. Speaking about the same to Indian Express, Prateik shared that in order to get into the skin of the role and feeling their pain, he did meet some migrant workers and spent time observing their body language. He added that he also spoke to them about their hardship and Madhur Bhandarkat too gave him some reference films to watch.

For the preparation, Prateik also revealed that, he watched some of his mother’s films as she portrayed such characters during her time. On a closing note, he shared that it was a beautiful process, and through this film he’s also paying tribute to his mother, late actor Smita Patil.
