Hemanta Biswa Sharma attended a public meeting in support of the BJP candidate in Dharmanagar

0

Dharmanagar, Feb 11:

Assam Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sharma held a victory resolution public meeting at Dharmanagar BMS office ground on Saturday afternoon in support of Bharatiya Janata Party nominated candidate for Dharmanagar Assembly Constituency Bishwabandhu Sen.

Apart from Hemanta Biswa Sharma, Dharmanagar Mandal Pravari Shantanu Pramanik, BJP candidate for 56 Dharmanagar Assembly Constituency Biswabandhu Sen and others were present in this public meeting. Dharmanagar mandal president Shyamal Nath presided over this public meeting.

The chief guest of this public meeting and the chief minister of Assam, Hemanta Biswa Sharma in his speech, first of all took a dig at CPM Congress alliance and said, where are CPM and Congress in this country ? Both teams are now zero, so adding zero and zero equals double zero. Congress CPM alliance is going to get double zero seats in this state Assembly Election.

Many Congress workers have been killed in the state in the last 25 years of the Left. Since then CPM and Congress have been at loggerheads. Now they are married. People understand everything now, so no one will vote for this alliance.

He said that the people of the state wanted a BJP alliance with Tipra Motha, it would have been easier for the BJP to form the government again. So he called Maharaja, the leader of the Tipra Motha party to Guwahati and talked to him. He asks the king what he wants to do to Tripura. Then the Maharaja said that he wanted to divide Tripura into two parts and make Greater Tripura Land. At that time he told the Maharaja that as long as BJP is in power Tripura will not be allowed to be divided into two. So the BJP party could not join hands with Tipra Motha. BJP will fight back and regain power.

He has been campaigning in Tripura for the past twenty-fifteen days, and is getting tremendous response from the people. He told the CPM party workers that the Prime Minister of the country has been doing various developmental works for the people of the state, social allowance has been increased from 700 to 2000 rupees, drinking water has been provided to every household, 5 kg of rice is being given free of charge, Rs 5 lakhs have been given for treatment through PM Ayushman Bharat card, but despite all this, CPM party workers are abusing BJP and saying Lal Salam, Lal Salam.

He said that if the BJP comes to power again in the state, two gas cylinders will be given to every house twice a year, canteens will be opened in different parts of the state and lunches will be arranged for 5 rupees, and the Krishak Samman Nidhi which was previously 6 thousand rupees 3 times a year, will be increased to 8 thousand rupees four times a year. After the birth of a girl child, 50 thousand rupees will be given in her name, which after 16 years, they can withdraw this money and spend it on education.

On this day, the Chief Minister of Assam asked the people present in support of the BJP candidate to vote. He said Bishwabandhu Sen had won by 7000 votes last time and this time he should win by 10000 votes. If he wins with more votes, it will be the people’s bonus.

Vehicular traffic intrudes Formula E race track in Hyderabad

0

A day before ABB FIA Formula E World Championship race here, chaos broke out after vehicular traffic entered the race area of the street circuit on Friday.

The security breach and pandemonium shocked the organisers and delayed the first practice session in the evening.

With heavy traffic jams on roads due to restrictions on the movement of vehicles around the track in the heart of the city, some civilian vehicles entered the race area after some barricades were removed.

The entry of two-wheelers and four-wheelers stunned the drivers of participating teams preparing for practice session. As no race car was on the track, a major incident was averted.

Authorities swung into action to stop vehicular traffic and re-barricade the street circuit.

The security breach and chaos delayed the practice session by an hour. It was immediately not clear who removed the barricade.

For the last few days, the roads leading to the racing track have been chock-a-block due to diversion of traffic at several points. Motorists were fuming at the restrictions, which had led to long traffic snarls and this had even led to an altercation between the public and the police.

Taking a serious note of the security breach, the police have ordered an inquiry. They were trying to identify the persons who removed the barricade.

Officials of Federation of International de I’Automobile (FIA) were reportedly unhappy over the incident and asked the local authorities to set right things before the race scheduled on Saturday.

Hyderabad is the first Indian city to host the prestigious race. The 2.8-km track, featuring a total of 18 turns, has been laid alongside Hussain Sagar Lake, using the existing roads for vehicular traffic. This necessitated traffic diversions in the core area of the city, leading to massive traffic jams on all adjoining thoroughfares.

A total of 11 teams and 22 drivers will be participating in the race. All cars are electric and powered by a 250kW battery. They can reach speeds of up to 280km/h.

For the first time, the Formula E grid will see participation by McLaren and Maserati who will compete with Porsche, Jaguar, Nissan, Mahindra and others.

Meanwhile, Tag Heuer Porsche driver, Pascal Wehrlein, suffered a crash in the free practice 1 on Friday. The German racer escaped unhurt in the crash.

The main race will be held Saturday afternoon post free practice 2 and qualifying race in the morning session.

The driver lost control of the car on turn 18 and crashed into the wall. Front and rear of the car was damaged.

According to organisers, the venue will have a grandstand capacity of around 20,000 spectators. — IANS

Tribal gunmen kills 5 in Yemen; Clashes between security forces

0

Aden (Yemen), Feb 11 :

Five people were killed and several others injured in intense clashes between Yemeni security forces and tribal gunmen in the country’s oil-rich northeastern province of Marib, a government official said.

“Following a dispute over oil supplies, armed confrontations are still ongoing between the security forces and tribal gunmen in the neighbourhoods of the provincial capital Marib, leaving five people killed and several others injured,” the local government official said on condition of anonymity on Friday.

Heavily-deployed tribal gunmen had started to block main roads to government institutions in an effort to get oil derivatives to supply their gas stations, he added.

The government forces sought to reopen some blocked roads and protect the institutions, and heavy fighting with the gunmen ensued in the strategic Yemeni city, he said.

Explosions were heard in the city and flames were seen rising in the area, local residents confirmed to Xinhua by phone.

The country’s government forces, backed by Saudi Arabia, control the province and frequently clash with the Houthi rebel militia in areas near the capital city, Xinhua news agency reported.

Yemen’s civil war flared in late 2014 when the Houthi group seized control over much of the country’s north and forced the internationally recognised government out of the capital Sanaa. — IANS

‘Fast X’ first trailer: Jason Momoa’s Dante faces off Vin Diesel’s Dom in explosive

0

Universal has pulled the curtain back on ‘Fast X’, beginning the promo campaign for the 10th film in the long-running ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise with an explosive first trailer, ‘Variety’ reports.

Jason Momoa and Brie Larson lead the pack of new cast additions. Momoa portrays a villain named Dante. Larson plays a new character named Tess.

Other series newcomers include Michael Rooker, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson and Rita Moreno. Returning for the franchise’s 10th go-around are franchise regulars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang and Scott Eastwood. Additional returning cast include Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw, John Cena’s Jakob Toretto, Helen Mirren’s Magdalene ‘Queenie’ Ellmanson-Shaw and Charlize Theron’s ultimate baddie Cipher, adds ‘Variety’.

The trailer, according to ‘Variety’, outlines the danger Dom and his crew of street racers will face as “the end of the road begins”. Momoa’s Dante is their latest adversary and it turns out the motorcycle-riding baddie has ties to 2011’s ‘Fast Five’.

Remember when Dom and Brian (Paul Walker) tethered a bank vault to their Dodge Chargers and drove it through the streets of Rio de Janeiro to thwart drug kingpin Hernan Reyes?

Dante certainly does — as the high-octane heist ruined his life. He’s Reyes’ son and has spent the last 12 years masterminding a plan to take revenge. Now, Dante threatens to tear the ‘Fast’ family apart, playing on Dom’s greatest fear: losing someone he loves.

The patriarch of the Toretto family has a lot to lose. He reunited with his long-lost brother Jakob at the end of ‘F9: The Fast Saga’ and is also raising his son, little Brian (Leo Abuelo Perry), with Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). The footage also introduces Rita Moreno as Dom’s grandmother.

Centre lifts ban on PayU’s LazyPay, Kissht, KreditBee lending apps

0
  • The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has lifted the ban on some digital lending apps like PayU’s buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) service LazyPay, Kissht, KreditBee and others, after it blocked nearly 138 gambling apps and 94 loan apps over “Chinese linkage” concerns.

  • The IT Ministry was recently instructed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to ban such apps, which operate through a third party link.

  • Sources said that all these apps were found violating Section 69 of the IT Act and contained materials which were deemed as threat to India’s sovereignty and integrity.

  • In a statement, Kissht said that the ban on its website and app had been lifted.

  • “The government has shown unrelenting support in ensuring that credible and fully compliant apps such as Kissht continue to work towards greater financial inclusivity in the country. We have served more than 8 million Indians since 2017 and look forward to serving many millions more in the years forward,” said the fintech startup.

  • The digital lending apps said that the domain Aptoide in the list issued by MeiTY is a clear instance of “impersonation” and has no affiliation to them.

  • KreditBee said in a statement that Aptoide is a third-party app, with which we have no formal or informal partnership.
  • “We are speculating that it’s a proxy app on Aptoide, and investigating this further. Blocking of the Aptoide link is a favourable outcome for us,” KreditBee had said in an earlier statement.

  • TechCrunch was first to report about lifting the ban on some digital lending apps.
  • mPokket said that blocking of such apps protects both the consumers and lenders.

  • “We at mPokket continue to bring the best service to our customers without any disruptions,” said the startup.
  • As per sources, these apps are used to trap financially strapped people in a debt trap, by increasing their interest on loans by up to 3,000 per cent.
  • The issue came to the fore after several cases of suicides by borrowers of these apps were reported from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Maharaja Pradyot in support of Abu Khair Mia; Election campaign of Tipra Motha in Boxanagar Assembly Constituency

0

Boxanagar, Feb 10:

A mass gathering of TIPRA motha campaign was held at Boxanagar playground on Friday. The program took to its height with huge crowds from old to young when Maharaja Pradyot Kishore Debbarma landed in a Helipad at 4.45 pm. The entire field was covered by the strong and strict security system of the administration. From 2.30 pm, a large number of people thronged the ground gallery to see Bubagra.

After disembarking from the helipad, tiprasa womens welcomed him with garlands. From the football ground, Maharaj Pradyot Kishore Manikya arrived on foot at the Boxanagar Town Hall grounds through tight security of volunteers and administrative officials. The crowd thronged the grounds and on both sides of the road a large number of people gathered to hear the king’s speech. He greeted everyone present on the venue.

Maharaja in his speech said, “I have not come here to give a speech, I have come to talk about the rights of all people regardless of caste and religion. Tipra Motha party’s candidate for Boxanagar is Abu Khair Mia. He is an honest idealistic social worker and public welfare person, and was a Jawan of Assam Rifles. He left government service and joined Tipra motha to serve the people”.

He also said that the Left Front ruled the state for 25 years in the past, but what did they do for the people? they only cheated and cheated, and some became a minister and MLA. CPM has captured the state by misleading the people of this state. Today they are left out of the power.

BJP came from Delhi and gave various lollipops to the Tiprasa’s. Their lollipop leaders did nothing good for the people. Wages was supposed to be increased in NREGA, thousands of jobs were supposed to be provided, various government opportunities were supposed to be created, but actually people are deprived of many things. He also said that the BJP will leave the way it came.

He also said that, “I was given many kinds of temptations, but I could not do anything wrong with my people. I did not associate with any party. It will be understood after the election, whether we lose or win. But my claim is that we deserve it according to Article 2 and 3 of the Constitution of Tripra Land as per the right of the people in the state, we are fighting for it”.

Bubagra further said, “I want to say one thing to everyone regardless of party, that my father and grandfather did not do politics about any religion. Neither do I, all religions are equal to us. We have built mosques, built temples, created churches for all, but other political parties discriminate on the basis of religion. That is why this is the state of the society at present”.

Finally, Abu Khair Miah, the qualified candidate of the area, was introduced to everyone on the stage. TIPRA motha chairman told the people to fight for their rights and expel CPM and BJP from Boxanagar and support Anaras symbol.

Now the matter to be seen is on the day of the election result, how far can Anaras Marka give the ruling party or the left-Cong alliance, the challenge of the time. Whether the throne of victory will be determined by the ruling BJP or others ? Now that’s the question burning in the minds of the people of Boxanagar.

Maharani of Kutch Priti Devi donates for the cause of Greater Tipraland and TIPRA Motha Campaign

Agartala, Feb 10:

Just six days remain for the vote casting of Tripura Assembly Election, and a rapid campaign by BJP, Congress-CPI(M) alliance, and TIPRA motha as the major parties of the state are everywhere to take its stand. But this is the first time the national parties are seriously in a challenge with a regional party for domination of seats and formation of the government, with the TIPRA Motha party being the main key factor in this election.

TIPRA (Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance) Motha party led by royal scion Maharaja Pradyot Kishore Debbarma has taken the state by storm with the slogan for “Greater Tipraland”, and is contesting alone in this general election of Tripura. But being a new and small regional party has been facing the problem of sufficient funding compared to other national parties. Some big and small donations started to get poured after TIPRA chairman Maharaja Pradyot took to social platforms conveying hearty people for whatever support.

In such a situation, the erstwhile princess of Tripura and the maharani of Kutch couldn’t refrain away from helping the greater cause of Tripura, and donated Rs. 10,00,000/- (Ten Lakh) for the TIPRA Motha election campaign a few weeks back.

Maharani Priti Devi, the erstwhile princess of Tripura married in Kutch and became the Maharani of Kutch. She is the last daughter of Maharaja Bir Bikram, and Aunt of Maharaja Pradyot Kishore Debbarma of Tripura. She celebrated her 82nd birthday recently and is a well-wisher for the state of Tripura.

As spoken by Maharaja Pradyot, help from his aunt Maharani of Kutch is help and love towards the Tiprasa and all the people of the state. Someone helping from outside means a lot, whereas the people from within the state should take an example and support their own cause more in a broader way.

The TIPRA Motha, which is contesting 42 seats, is expected to do well in the 20 tribal-dominated Assembly seats within the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council, which has been in power since 2021. The offer of a pre-poll alliance by both the BJP and the Left-Congress alliance shows that the Motha is a force to reckon with. The Motha rejected the Left-Congress offer while negotiations with the BJP fell through after it declined to give in writing that it would grant a Greater Tipraland within the constitutional framework.

It is worth a mention that the majority of people and political leaders were surprised when TIPRA chairman Maharaja Pradyot did not take to contest in the 2023 assembly election. Though the selection of candidates was hard times spent many hours night and days.

Speaking to TIPRA chairman, he said that fulfillment of demands and constitutional rights is his true destiny. He wants to give something good and fruitful to the people of the state. Power, money, and ministerial post are secondary, rather he would never betray his people from their promised faith. With few days remaining for the election, TIPRA chairman Maharaja Pradyot is committed to supporting all the contesting candidates and attending mass gatherings, even though he is facing health problems.

The state of Tripura is in a wait to witness the outcome poll result of the major trios of Cong-CPI(M), BJP-IPFT, and TIPRA motha, and who with whom forms the Government.
