A few PCC delegates from the State also cast their votes in New Delhi, party sources informed here. Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Nabam Tuki was the first to cast his vote. Senior Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor are locking horns for the post of AICC chief.
Voting, which began at 10 am at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here, ended at 4 pm, the sources said. The voting was conducted under the supervision of Pradesh Returning Officer (PRO) Gopal Chandra Roy.
Kharge is considered the favourite to win the election due to his perceived proximity to the Gandhis and backing by senior leaders, even as Tharoor has pitched himself as the candidate of change.
