Bishalgarh, May 14: The police of Bishalgarh police station have caught three notorious women traffickers. Arrested are Arabul Rahman, Yiddish Mia, and Maman Mia. Their home is in Bishalgarh Raghunathpur.
On May 4, the gang tried to smuggle a Ugandan woman from Africa to Bangladesh. A foreigner traveling to Tripura was brought from Agartala railway station and detained at Bishalgarh. The woman somehow managed to save herself from their ambush and took shelter at the Bishalgarh police station. The woman’s passport bag was in the custody of the mobile phone smugglers.
The Bishalgarh Women Police Station took up a case against the woman under the Passport Act. She is currently in jail. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Rahul Das, the Investigating Officer of the case, started the investigation. The investigation identified the culprits.
Finally, the police arrested three people involved in the smuggling on Saturday. Some of them are traffickers, some are shelterers and some helped in transportation. Ugandan woman’s passport, bag, mobile phone has been recovered. Police seized the Maruti car used in smuggling.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Sepahijala District Manavendra Chowdhury said that a trafficking gang is active. More informations are coming. All will be brought under the law. SDPO Rahul Das said it was an organised gang. They are involved with brokers in Bangladesh. Legal action will be taken against all involved and accomplices.
