Dharmanagar, 18 June 2022: Trinamool Congress state president Subhal Bhowmik held a press conference in Dharmanagar with a bunch of allegations against the ruling party. The press conference was organized to call for an end to electoral terrorism and transparency in the voting process. He also slammed the ruling BJP on various issues.
Ripon Bora, state president of Assam’s Trinamool Congress, joined hands with the BJP in Tripura, including Assam. He said BJP’s goonda raj was going on in Assam. Encounters are made from time to time. So far over 200 encounters have been made in Assam. Opposition leaders, including the President, have approached the law. The plan is to eliminate the opposition. If the BJP is blamed for the dictatorial rule in the country, they cannot accept it. So he called on the Trinamool Congress to strengthen its hand in time, and to win the Trinamool Congress candidates by a huge margin.
Subal Bhowmik said that thousands of flags and festoons were torn down in Yuvrajnagar to detoriate casting their votes. Fear of grassroots activists cannot be stopped. The BJP has lost its way after realizing that the people want the Trinamool Congress. So they are trying to turn this by-election into a farce by tearing flags and festoons and showing fear. But it will not happen this time.
He also accused the Returning Officer of Yuvrajnagar Center of working for the ruling party. He said they would approach the State Election Commission on what was happening in Yuvrajnagar and would follow the law if necessary. Still, we will not talk about leaving the BJP, said Subhal Bhowmik.
Also present at the press conference were state Trinamool general secretaries Baptu Chakraborty and Tapas Roy, West Bengal Trinamool student leader Jaya Dutta, Yuvrajnagar center candidate Dr Mrinal Kanti Debnath, Trinamool leader Biswajit Deb and others.
