Boxanagar, 21 July 2022: Incidents like murder, terrorism, suicide, kidnapping are seen every day and there is no stopping of such criminal incidents. This type of crime is increasing in the state as well as in the country. Last Wednesday, a girl from Tripura, who went to Chennai for work, committed suicide, which casted a shadow of mourning in the area.
In the details of the incident, it is known that Rima Maya Begum (30), daughter of Abu Taher, a resident of Ward No. (4) of Putia Village Panchayat under Boxanagar Block of Sonamura Sub-division of the state, married to Shahjahan Mia of Ward No. (6) of the same village 12 years ago according to Islamic customs. The family were blessed with two sons and a daughter and the family life was going well. But recently, two years ago, due to family problems, the couple got divorced. Then Rima came to her father’s house with her son.
On the other hand, husband Shah Jahan married a second wife. Then Rima fell into financial crisis with her aged parents and a son, which forced Riya to move to Chennai (for employment) for work.
As usual got a job as a nurse’s aide in a private hospital called Jeevan Mitra Fertility Center in Jayanagar, Chennai. Rima worked in the said hospital for one year. After a year of service, she came home on leave and took her younger sister with her for work in Chennai. After almost six months of work, Rima decided to commit suicide by hanging herself with a thick rope on the balcony of a hospital in Chennai at 10 am on Wednesday. In a telephone interview with Rima’s father Abu Taher and her younger sister, it is known that Rima was forced to commit suicide due to mental stress due to various family reasons.
On the other hand, it is known from secret sources that on Tuesday night, she committed suicide by hanging herself due to quarrels with her estranged husband about children’s various issues. However, Rima’s body has not yet arrived in the state. Rima’s family from Putia has approached the Sub-Divisional Ruler and the police administration to bring Rima’s body home.
Currently, Rima’s body is at the hospital mortuary under K-11 CMD Police Station, Chennai. Chennai and Tripura administrations have started racing to arrange for them to reach home within the next 24 hours. Rima’s relatives are eagerly waiting for Rima’s body.
