Agartala, 20 July 2022: A press meet was conducted by TIPRA president Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl and members of Tipra Lawyers Confederation in Manikya court on Wednesday.
TIPRA president Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl briefed the press on the context of the judgement given by High Court regarding the conduction of ADC village council election by November 2022. The High Court has directed the State Election Commission to announce the date of the state village committee elections by the next month of November. On July 13, a double bench of the High Court gave this direction to the State Election Commission. The court directed to complete the election and the counting by the first week of November.
The Public Interest Litigation was filed in the High Court by Rajesh Debbarma and Dalia Debbarma. Tipra Matha is happy with the high court verdict.
Bijoy Kr Rangkhawl, president of Tipra Motha, said this at a press conference at Manikya Court on Wednesday. He also said that they are fully prepared for the election of 587 village committees.
The leaders of the party will meet in a meeting on July 26 to prepare the next day’s election strategy.
Advocate Mintu Debbarma and Advocate Arup Debbarma were present in the press meet from among the Tipra Lawyers Confederation. Advocate Arup Debbarma told the media about the details of the legal case upto the judgement for the village council election.
