Teliamura, 02 June 2022: An insurance worker of SBI bank was detained by police, on a charge of abusing a police in front of Teliamura police station on Wednesday night.
According to reports, Sukanta Bhowmik, a general insurance worker of Agartala Ker-Chowhumuni SBI branch, was on his way to Ambasa from Agartala in his car late at night. Police of Teliamura police station were checking vehicles on Assam-Agartala national highway in front of Teliamura police station like every day. During a police vehicle check on Wednesday night, police asked the general insurance worker of the SBI branch to stop the car and show the valid documents. Sukanta Bhowmik, a general insurance worker of SBI Bank, got angry over this.
Allegedly, the general insurance worker of the bank was in a state of intoxication. He is even known to have abused the police.
Later, the police of Teliamura police station arrested him under section 90 of IPC and put him in lockup.
