The forest workers are unable to stop the rampage of wild elephants. Like other days, last Monday night wild elephants performed furious destruction in Kapalitila area of Mahanirpur under Laxmipur village panchayat. A farmer named Manoranjan Majumder was affected.
According to the details of the incident, wild elephants came to Kapalitila village on Monday night. The wild elephant entered the village and vandalized the house of Manoranjan Majumdar. Manoranjan Majumdar was not at home at that time. Manoranjan Majumdar along with other people of the village rushed to Manoranjan Majumdar’s house due to the screams of the people of the house.
Meanwhile, wild elephants vandalized Manoranjan Majumdar’s house along with some banana trees. When the wild elephants ran into the forest, Teliamura forest workers and volunteer team workers reached the spot after getting the information. The forest workers also spotted the wild elephant going into the forest after vandalizing.
On the other hand, Manoranjan Majumdar got the news that the forest workers had arrived. He informed the forest officials about the rampage by wild elephants and to inspect the affected area. But no forest personnel expressed reluctance to visit the affected area.
Under the pressure of the crowd present at that time, the forest workers went to Manoranjan Majumdar’s house and inspected the affected area. The victim Manoranjan Majumder complained that, although there is ongoing damage created by wild elephants every day and night, no help was received from the forest department.
Kapalitila village is considered the main agricultural area. But the farmers of that village are currently victims of wild elephant attacks. And it is basically not unknown to the forest workers.
