Love marriage lasted for three months, which reached domestic violence and an attempt to murder, then a police case was filed demanding justice and punishment against the husband and in-laws.
According to the details of the incident, Rituparna Das, a college student daughter of Bikarna Das of Madhupur Daspara area, had a love affair with Shubojit Sarkar, son of Gurupad Sarkar of Madhupur Bankumari area, three months ago. Later, both of them ran away and got married, hiding from the eyes of their parents.
Allegedly, husband Subhrajit Sarkar started beating the new housewife Rituparna Das after two days of the marriage, intoxicated with alcohol and tablets. The housewife tolerated it for the first few days but as the level of torture increased, she reported the incident to her in-laws. But on the contrary, the father-in-law and mother-in-law started to torture the new housewife. The in-laws of the new housewife kept pressing to bring dowry from her father’s house.
As the father of the helpless new housewife is financially weak and unable to provide for everything, the torture became more intense on this housewife. At one time the level of torture increased so much that late at night housewife Rituparna Das was tried to kill by putting a pillow on her face. Not only that, they started hitting various parts of her body physically with sticks. At one time, her ear bled several times and was later brought to Madhupur Hospital. But as the new housewife ran away from home and got married, she was not able to inform her home properly. However, when she went to inform over the phone at home about the happening incident, she was repeatedly beaten, and her mobile phone was broken.
Meanwhile, new housewife Rituparna Das said that her in-laws and husband tried to kill her late on Saturday night. Later, around 3 am, she ran away from there to her sister’s house for shelter and filed a case against the three accused at the police station at 7 pm on Sunday.
The housewife demanded severe punishment for the accused. Now it is to be seen what role the police will take. The locals of the area are demanding severe punishment for the three persons.
